A tiled wall with a wave-textured panel across the middle, and the whole job roughed in and waiting: two electrical tails left out at mirror height, valves and waste set into the tile at low level, and the floor still part screed with the drain already in.
Everything about the piece was decided before we arrived. The tile courses set the height the counter could sit at, the services fixed where the basin had to fall, and the return wall on the right set the width. That is the case for measuring on site rather than ordering a size.
A marble counter, wall-hung with nothing under it at the ends, and the basin cut into the surface rather than dropped into it. The brass tap sits on the stone, centred on the basin.
Two handleless oak drawers run beneath the counter, and a full-height oak column stands against the right-hand wall, running from the counter line up past the mirror. The two recessed niches already in the left wall were left exactly as they were and simply framed by the new work.
Above it, a large backlit mirror against the textured tile — sized to the counter, with the glow washing the texture behind it.
Measured on site, off the tile and the services rather than off a drawing. Cut, profiled and finished in our workshop in Hay Hoshi, Sharjah, and installed by our own team.
